UX
Wanting to move away from a traditional agency model, CAP called us in to bolster their existing product team. We worked with CAP to create a brand-new experience for money coaching. With a solid internal team of Dave, Amy and James, we became part of a focused Money Coaching product team, bringing UX expertise and guidance.
Money coaching had lacked a focus and funding for years, so had failed on most key accessibility markers and would not work on mobile devices. It also felt very dated and didn’t represent the cutting edge, industry defining culture of CAP as a whole.
We worked in a scrum, agile environment, and so were designing each step, alongside the development team, in real time. After an immersion day up north and some test sprints, we jumped in and worked with the team through weekly workshops to sketch out, afresh, the user flows for both the coach and the course participant experience. Dave and our team built CAP into our weekly rhythm of work so that they knew they could get UX support at key points during each sprint.

Impact
Mobile first functionality, simplification of each and every interaction, content that was easy to understand and tested on end-users, we absolutely smashed best practices across the board. (Can you tell how much we loved this project?) Instead of CAP feeling bound by external agencies, we were able to come alongside the existing product team and empower them to keep building and use a simple UI kit effectively.
The new CAP Money Course has seen an increase in uptake and the team has been flooded with appreciation and praise from the coaches. We saw the value we could bring and helped CAP transform their course experience. We felt proud to take a product from failing so many accessibility markers to a course that showcased industry leading accessibility.
