Living Out: Kaleidoscope

Big on conversations, big on colour

Living Out’s aim is to “help people, churches and society talk about faith and sexuality.” Having worked with Living Out before, we most recently worked with them to help launch their latest project ‘Kaleidoscope’. This project seeks to provide resources for leaders to engage young people on the topic of faith and sexuality.

We helped Living Out develop a fresh look for the Kaleidoscope project with a specific colour palette that reinvigorates their classic logo and brand colours with a vibrant facelift.

As we explored with Living Out how best to design, build and showcase Kaleidoscope, it became apparent that changes also needed to be made to the homepage in order to reorganise their current materials. Dave and Max made some simple design changes to the main webpage so we could showcase Living Out’s latest project. These changes allow the site's resources to be better navigated and allow Living Out to highlight new key projects such as Kaleidoscope.

Within the new website layout, is the Kaleidoscope area. Dave and Max designed the site to show off the resources available upon signing up for the course, whilst still ensuring access is restricted to those who signed up for the course. The design seeks to strike a balance between showcasing the resources whilst encouraging engagement with Living Out. Moreover, the new colour pallet gives these resources a fresh feel, while still being tied to the current brand.

Together with Living Out, we worked on making the materials as accessible as possible, both for individuals and groups. We did this by clearly demarcating the sections and allowing the download of individual files or the whole lot!

Our desire was to ensure that Kaleidoscope enabled future projects to co-exist on the Living Out website. This meant that while we introduced a new section to their website, this development future-proofed against expansion. This project added sections to their current website. It allowed them to add high-quality content and update the material as often as they wanted to. Users, meanwhile, can download one file or all of them at once, and the system provides them with a clear path through the material. Check it out, and see for yourself on the Living Out website.
